History

Our story starts like the story of any other business, a small community based business that focused on quality and the customer's needs.  This empahsis on quality and our customers is what allowed our business to grow.

Logue and Son Granite Works was estabished in 1896 by Homer Logue.  About 1900 Lyle C. Logue started working in the family business.  The building to the right shows our first memorial shop which is two blocks away from our current location.

Lyle Logue moved Logue and Son Memorials to a new location around 1925, which is where our business now resides.  The picture to the right was taken in 1935 and shows how the face of our business changed. Lyle Logue was joined by his son L. Dana Logue in 1939.
L. Dana Logue served in World War Two but would return to further expand the monument shop with the help of his father Lyle in 1946 through 1947.  In 1950 L. Dana took over the family business and fourteen years later in 1964 he was joined by his son L. Dana Logue Jr.  In 1967 Logue and Son Memorial Works saw another big change.  L. Dana Logue Sr. and L. Dana Logue Jr. purchased another shop in Butler.  They decided to keep the original name, Sechler Memorials, and further expanded the family business.

In 1982 Dana Sr. and Dana Jr. expanded the shop at our Sligo location further.  In 1986 L. Dana Logue Sr. retired and his Son Dana Logue Jr. took over.  In 1988 L. Dana Logue III, Dana Logue Jr.'s son joined the family business and continued our long tradition of being a family owned and family operated business.

The people and location have changed and we have expanded over the years, but we still operate with the same values that we held when we made our first monument back in 1896.
